Enroll in Moraine Park Technical College’s Shielded Metal Arc Welding Certificate program to jumpstart your career as a welder and gain hands-on welding training.
Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), also known as stick welding is commonly used in maintenance departments, repair shops, construction sites, pipe welding and other industrial settings.
Moraine Park’s Shielded Metal Arc Welding Certificate prepares students for entry-level employment as a welder, and students can also choose to continue their education by applying their certificate credits to the Welding technical diploma.
Students gain hands-on experience in shielded metal arc welding in all positions, as well as knowledge of welding safety, occupational math, welding print reading and cutting processes.
