Jumpstart an exciting career in industrial wiring with Moraine Park Technical College’s Industrial Wiring Certificate.
About the Program
In this short, two-course certificate program, students who have little to no background in the field learn the fundamentals of industrial wiring concepts. Graduates are prepared to design Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) circuits, address inputs and outputs, and work with the PLC numbering system. They also work with timers, counters, math functions and PLC wiring. Students can build on the Industrial Wiring Certificate by transferring their coursework to MPTC's Electricity program.
What You'll Learn
Students in this program learn the basics of electrical motor control components, circuits, and systems found in industrial and manufacturing settings. They'll also explore electrical control symbols, ladder diagrams, power distribution and control transformers. Graduates are well-versed in concepts of motor starters, relays, limit switches, pushbuttons, selector switches, timers, ac motor principles, proximity sensors, photo eyes and basic troubleshooting of power and control circuits.
