Prepare for an exciting career in the natural gas industry in as little as three semesters with the Gas Utility Construction and Service program at Moraine Park Technical College.

About the Program

Demand for gas utility providers and technicians is growing faster than the supply of skilled workers. Get started in MPTC's three-semester Gas Utility Construction and Service technical diploma and learn how to install, operate and maintain gas distribution systems. Students in the program work in MPTC's newly-built Energy Education Center, which is a fully-functioning gas utility lab.

What You'll Learn

Gas Utility students experience cutting-edge training with state-of-the-art equipment to learn how to install underground natural gas distribution systems and residential and commercial natural gas service lines. Graduates are prepared to adhere to OSHA safety procedures, install gas piping for natural and propane gases, and become familiarized with servicing gas appliances. Students will also gain hands-on experience in the physically-demanding underground construction field.
