About the Program

Make a difference and play an important role in your community with the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician program at MPTC. Students prepare to provide a higher level of pre-hospital patient care in emergency situations.

What You'll Learn

Students learn basic and limited advanced lifesaving skills through in class instruction and during clinical rotations. Advanced EMT builds upon the EMT foundation and adds to the student’s ability to perform skills and provide care to critically ill patients.

After completing this course, you must successfully pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Advanced cognitive and psychomotor examination to qualify for a Wisconsin Advanced Emergency Medical Technician license.

Acceptance into the Advanced EMT program includes health requirements and criminal background check. Students must be a licensed EMT and maintain licensure throughout the course.
