What You'll Learn
Students enrolled in the Fire Medic associate degree program at MPTC will gain comprehensive knowledge and hands-on skills to excel in both fire service and emergency medical response. The curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for the dual role of firefighter and paramedic, equipping them to handle the diverse and complex incidents faced by today’s emergency services. Through foundational courses such as Fire Fighting Principles and HazMat Awareness, students learn fire behavior, suppression techniques, and hazardous materials operations.
On the emergency medical side, students' progress through a rigorous paramedic sequence covering anatomy and physiology, patient assessment, pharmacology, respiratory and cardiac management, trauma care, and medical emergencies. Clinical field experiences provide real-world application of classroom learning, ensuring graduates are prepared for high-pressure environments.
